Before & After

Real results from patients who chose Teeth Whitening at our clinic.

Before After

Treatment Process
1
Assess your teeth and goals.

We examine the teeth and gums, discuss sensitivity and stain causes, note visible restorations and record your starting shade.

2
Prepare for whitening

Decay, leaking restorations or gum inflammation are managed first. Cleaning may be advised when surface deposits are affecting the colour.

3
Protect and apply

For in-clinic whitening, soft tissues are protected before the confirmed whitening product is applied in controlled stages, with comfort checks throughout.

4
Review the shade

We compare the result with the starting record and discuss any uneven areas. Further whitening is considered only if appropriate for your teeth.

5
Manage sensitivity and maintain

You receive advice on temporary sensitivity, food and drink choices, smoking, daily hygiene and when a future top-up might be reasonable.

  • A preview can clarify the proposed shape before final ceramics are made.
  • Ceramic is generally more colour-stable than direct composite resin.
  • The final bite and gum margins are checked for comfort and cleanability.

Before & After

Treatment Process
1
Check health, enamel and bite

We assess the teeth, gums, previous restorations, enamel available for bonding and any clenching or grinding that could affect the result.

2
Plan and preview the design

Photographs, impressions or scans and shade records guide tooth proportions. A digital or physical preview may be used if available.

3
Prepare conservatively

Local anaesthesia can be used for comfort. When needed, a controlled amount of enamel is removed before accurate records are sent to the laboratory.

4
Trial and bond the veneers

We check each veneer’s fit, shade, shape and contact with neighbouring teeth. After your review, the restorations are bonded and the bite is refined.

5
Protect the result

We review the gums and bite, demonstrate cleaning at the margins and discuss a night guard if grinding or clenching places the veneers at risk.

Treatment Process
1
Confirm that bonding fits the problem

We assess the tooth, gums and bite, then compare bonding with whitening, alignment, veneers or leaving the area untreated.

2
Agree the shade and contour

The resin shade and intended change are selected with you. Photographs or a small trial shape may help when more than one tooth is involved.

3
Condition the tooth

The surface is cleaned and prepared for bonding. Local anaesthesia is used only when the tooth or planned preparation makes it appropriate.

4
Layer, shape and harden

Composite is added in controlled layers, sculpted to blend with the tooth and hardened with a dental curing light.

5
Polish, check and protect

We polish the restoration, check your bite and explain staining risks, chewing precautions, daily care and the signs that a repair may be needed.

Treatment Process
1
Define what matters to you

We discuss the features you would like to keep or change, your preferred degree of change, budget, travel dates and any dental anxiety.

2
Complete a health and bite assessment

The dentist examines teeth, gums, bite and existing work. Photographs, scans and X-rays are used only when they add useful planning information.

3
Compare plans and preview proportion

You receive a clear sequence of options, including conservative alternatives. A smile preview may help the discussion.

4
Carry out treatment in the agreed order

Disease control and functional care come first. Aesthetic stages then follow the written plan, with comfort checks and time to review important decisions.

5
Review, refine and maintain

We check appearance, speech, bite and gum response, complete appropriate refinements and give a practical plan for home care and professional reviews.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions our patients ask most before their implant consultation.

Aesthetic dentistry can address the shade, visible shape, small chips, worn edges, limited spacing and the appearance of selected restorations. It cannot safely correct every concern with a cosmetic procedure alone. Gum disease, decay, a damaging bite or significant crowding may need attention first. Your assessment should separate what can be improved conservatively from what would require irreversible or multi-stage care.

No. Whitening gel lightens natural tooth structure but does not reliably alter the colour of ceramic or tooth-coloured fillings. A visible restoration that matches your current shade may look darker after whitening. The dentist can explain whether whitening should come first and whether any restoration might later need replacement. Replacement is recommended only when clinically or aesthetically justified, not automatically.

Bonding is often suitable for smaller changes and usually preserves more tooth structure. It can be repaired, but it is more likely to stain, wear or chip. Ceramic veneers can manage broader changes and are generally more colour-stable, yet they cost more, involve laboratory stages and often require irreversible preparation. Enamel, bite forces, grinding, gum health and the size of the change guide the choice.

There is no single lifespan. Whitening gradually fades and may need occasional top-ups. Bonding can lose polish, stain or chip and may need maintenance. Veneers can also chip, debond or develop decay at the margins, and may eventually require replacement. Daily hygiene, diet, smoking, grinding, bite forces and regular dental reviews all influence how well an aesthetic result is maintained.

Comfort depends on the procedure. Whitening can cause temporary sensitivity or gum irritation. Bonding often needs little or no local anaesthesia, while veneer preparation is commonly carried out with local anaesthesia where required. We explain likely sensations, agree breaks for longer visits and check your comfort. Additional anxiety or sedation options can be discussed after a medical review.
